West Virginia's public institutions of higher learning contributed $2.7 billion to the Mountain State's economy in 2014, the latest year with figures available.
Locally, Potomac State College of West Virginia University, in Keyser, contributed $27.9 million, while Easter West Virginia Community and Technical College checked in with $5.6 million.
The study was commissioned by West Virginia University.
