A circuit court judge has overturned the suspension of Frankfort Coach Kevin Whiteman’s suspension on a technicality.
The Mineral Daily News Tribune reports Judge Laura Faircloth ruled that State Superintendent Steven Paine was one day late in overturning the recommendation of a state board that Whiteman be reinstated.
Whiteman had been suspended after an allegation of inappropriate conduct by a female student in May of 2015. The mother of a second student filed a complain in March of 2016. The Mineral County Grand Jury heard evidence in the case and elected not to indict Whiteman.
The situation now reverts to the Mineral County School Board. We have a call into Superintendent Shawn Dilly to discuss the process and where the case goes from here.
