On April 13, 2017 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Mark Johnathon Tallman. The warrant stems from an incident Cumberland Police investigated on April 12, 2017. In that incident Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of N. Centre Street for an assault complaint. Police spoke with the adult female victim who said she and Tallman were in the upstairs of their residence and he would not allow her to leave. Each time she tried to go downstairs he would throw her to the ground and assault her. Non-life threatening injuries were observed to the victim and no medical treatment was required for her. When contact was made with Tallman it was determined he needed medical treatment, which was not related to the incident involving the female victim. He was taken to the hospital by the Cumberland Fire Department for further treatment. After being served with the warrant Tallman was taken to a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $30,000 bond. He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.
