The Cumberland Times News reports an outside wall of an apartment building at 70 Blocker Street collapsed late Wednesday afternoon. Two people were displaced in the 5:57 p.m. incident, according to Ridgeley Mayor Lynn Carr.
The Mineral County Office of Emergency Management, Allegany County Collapse Team and Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene along with Columbia Gas and Potomac Edison personnel.
The collapse team reportedly shored up the second-floor of the building in an effort to prevent possible further collapse of the two-story structure.
First responders were on the call for more than three hours.
Carr said, "We appreciate the help of neighboring agencies and our Office of Emergency Management that is continuing to monitor the situation."
No injuries were reported.
