According to WBAL News, election officials estimate that once absentee and provisional ballots are counted, more than 2.6 million Marylanders will have voted in this year's general election, accounting for 69.4 percent of voters registered in the state of Maryland. That number is compared to 2.66 million people who voted in the 2008 Presidential Election, roughly 77.6 percent of registered voters. This year's figures are expected to increase after absentee ballots are counted.
