11:50 Allegany County Emergency Services reports a house fire in the Messick Road area. Units are arriving on the scene.
1:05 UPDATE : Cumberland Fire Department and allied volunteer fire companies responded to a residential fire late Thursday morning in the 11800 block of Messick Road. The Cumberland Times News reports one person was being treated at the scene following the 11:42 a.m. incident that brought various fire departments and ambulances to the scene along with units from the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services. First-arriving city firefighters reportedly found heavy smoke and fire in the single-family residence. The fire was brought under control about 20 minutes into the fire operation. Units on the scene included Cumberland Fire Department and volunteer fire departments from Bedford Road, Ridgeley, Bowling Green, LaVale and District 16, in addition to ambulances from Bowman's Addition and Cresaptown.
