Saturday night at approximately 10:40, Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Old Mount Pleasant Road, Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland for a motor vehicle crash.
Deputies arrived on scene and observed a 2006 Chevy truck that was used to tow two other vehicles in a ditch. It was further discovered that the driver, Keon Taff Jackson of South Carolina was able to self extricate from the vehicle. The front passenger identified as Janice Shannon and her two children in the rear seats were entrapped inside the vehicle.
Cumberland City EMS, Bowman’s Addition EMS, Bedford Road Fire Department, and Baltimore Pike Fire Department responded to the scene. Ms. Jackson and her small children were transported to Western Maryland Health System with minor injuries. The motor vehicle crash is still under investigation.
