U.S. Senator Ben Cardin visited western Maryland Friday with stops in Cumberland and Accident. Following a visit to the recently restored B’er Chayim Temple in downtown Cumberland, the Democrat, seeking his second term, talked with WCBC News about the state of the economy. He says while it is important for Cumberland not to give up on manufacturing, the region needs to branch into other areas, such as the high tech and tourism industries.
