On Wednesday, March 28th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue for the report of gun shots. When officers arrived, witnesses were interviewed who directed officers to 40 Utah Avenue where the gun fire had taken place. Officers went the Utah Avenue residence and learned that Jeremiah P. Yee and Lisa D. Lucas both had fired a gun in the back yard which resulted in the police being notified. Evidence of a firearm being discharged was located and a subsequent search resulted in the recovery of a .22 handgun and ammunition. Both Lucas and Yee were found to be prohibited by law from possessing a firearm or ammunition because of prior felony convictions. Yee and Lucas were placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing. They were later taken before the District Court Commissioner for a bond review and both were remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.
Jeremiah Presley Yee, age; 31, Lonaconing, Maryland. Held without bond.
Lisa Danielle Lucas, age; 42, Lonaconing, Maryland. Held on $2,500.
Charges: Illegal possession if regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, handgun on person, firearm possession with felony conviction, discharging a firearm in the city limits, disorderly conduct, and obstructing and hindering.
