A recent Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. The Operation Safe Streets Warrant Initiative began Monday, May 7, and concluded Friday, May 11, 2018.
The goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of open arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants.
This initiative resulted in the arrest of twenty (20) individuals on active arrest warrants, with a total of twenty-five (25) arrest warrants being served.
This was another successful operation conducted with Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department and Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.

My word, we have a lot of folks who just can’t not misbehave! Teens to senior citizens, they make it their life’s work. At this percentage, a small city like Pittsburgh would be rounding up an extra 300 per week and I’m pretty sure they don’t need to.
