On June 27, 2019 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 18 West First Street for a reported disturbance. Upon the officers arrival they learned from the female complaint that Cameron Howard and a juvenile male were trying to get her son to come outside so they could beat him up. She informed the officers that prior to their arrival the two males took off running from the area. During a check of the area, officers located Howard and the juvenile male on Blaul Avenue. While officers were speaking with both subjects they determined both individuals to be under the influence of alcohol. Howard who refused to cooperate with officers began to yell and scream in the middle of the street. Howard was advised by the officers several times to stop yelling and leave the area. Howard who refused to obey the officer’s orders continued to cause problems. Howard was advised by the officers that he was under arrest. As officers attempted to place Howard into cuffs he resisted the arrest and assaulted the officer by shoving him in the chest. Howard was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Howard was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Howard was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
