Two Area Residents Arrested in Garrett County on Major Drug Possession

On Wednesday, Garrett County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of Maryland Highway and Broadford Road for a vehicle and its occupants acting in a suspicious manner. Deputies were able to locate and stop the vehicle in the 5400 block of Maryland Highway. An investigation led to the discovery of controlled dangerous substances and to the arrest of Asia Broadway IV of Cresaptown, and Avery Payton Gilman of Cumberland.

Both were charged with the following:

CDS possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl
CDS possession with the intent to distribute heroin
CDS possession of fentanyl
CDS possession of heroin
Various traffic violations

Broadway IV and Gilman were transported to the Garrett County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.

    Less than a year ago it looked like IV had settled into the family business of blacktop contracting scams.

    I guess he just could not help himself, must be in his genetic makeup. (Carrying on the family tradition) At the very least the elder population,and others, will be a little safer from the scams,cons, and drug peddling that they precipitated.
