Earlier this month, Allegany College of Maryland hosted the 50th annual Tri-State College Night. More than 60 colleges, universities, technical schools and branches of the military were on hand to help parents and students make educated decisions about post-secondary plans. More than 200 area high school students and parents attended this year’s event. Four high school students attending the event were the recipients of various scholarships. Morgan Cuthbertson, junior at Mountain Ridge High School, and Robert Halle, junior at Allegany High School, were the winners of $350 scholarships to the college or university of their choosing. Taylor Hall of Frankfort High School, and Tyonn Powell of Bishop Walsh High School, were the recipients of a $750 scholarship to Allegany College of Maryland and to the college or university of his choice, respectively.
All four scholarship recipients were selected by random drawing. Each of the students has two years to redeem their scholarship winnings from the 2017 Tri-State College Night.
