Twenty-Nine People Arrested In Latest Safe Streets Initiative

Just last week twenty-nine people were arrested in the latest  Safe Streets warrant initiative, the sixth such operation since the program began several months ago. The warrant initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. Safe Streets program coordinator David Goad says that the goal continues to be making city streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants. Goad said Operation Takedown VI police teams made a total of 29 arrests and served 36 warrants during the weeklong initiative.
