Transgender Navy Officer Speaks On Suit Against President

November 8th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

WBAL reports a federal judge in Baltimore will hear arguments in a case challenging President Donald Trump's transgender military ban. The lead plaintiff, a transgender member of the Navy based at Fort Meade, is publicly sharing his story.

Petty Officer First Class Brock Stone will be in court Thursday. He said he simply wants to keep serving his country.

"I had been told it was OK to be myself, and then I was told OK, never mind," Stone said.

In his first interview, Stone is not speaking on behalf of the military. Instead, he's sharing his personal opinion after suing Trump over his decision to halt a 2016 directive that allowed transgender service members, like him, to serve openly.
