On Monday, March 11th, 2019 a Cumberland Police Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on W. Harrison Street. Contact was made with the driver identified as Cory Nicholas Depalama. A check of Depalama’s driver’s license showed he was suspended in North Carolina. Depalama was also in the company of two passengers who were identified as Travis Jay Martin and Earl Roscoe Diggs Jr. A Cumberland Police K-9 officer arrived to assist with the stop and conducted a scan of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted for the presence of CDS and a search of the vehicle and occupants were conducted which resulted in a quantity of marihuana, crystal methamphetamine, hypodermic syringes, and CDS paraphernalia being recovered. All three occupants were arrested and charged with CDS related charges and were later released by the District Court Commissioner on their personal recognizance’s pending trial.
