Yesterday, the replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall arrived at the Mineral County Fairgrounds, with its tractor trailer arriving from the Chicago area, escorted by nearly 100 motorcycles.
The large escort also included members of law enforcement from Allegany and Mineral Counties, and took the route of Winchester Road to US 220 south to Keyser, before using Route 46 to Fort Ashby.
It's expected the wall will be set up for viewing by 4 PM today, with an opening ceremony scheduled for 8 AM Thursday.
Frank Roleff, of Boyce Houser Post 41 of the American Legion, tells WCBC News this is the first time the replica will be displayed in West Virginia, and will be open around the clock through Sunday at 2 PM.
Admission is free, and visitors will be able to make rubbings of the names on The Wall That Heals.
