The Salvation Army is responding to COVID-19

March 20th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

When the unexpected happens The Salvation Army prepares for the greater need for emotional and spiritual care.  As the global virus panic spreads across Cumberland The Salvation Army is ready to serve in whatever capacity we are needed.  Today, our food pantry is stocked, and our volunteers are preparing food boxes that will be distributed to senior citizens and families with children.  The Salvation Army is providing home delivery of pantry and toiletry items where needed.  If you or someone you know is in need please contact Karen at 301.777.7600.

“Food insecurity is a real problem in our community,” says Captain Ronnette Smith.  “There are many people whose children are home from school, who are out of work, or who are on fixed incomes. The Salvation Army is their safety net providing many of the necessities they need to stay safe in their homes,” says Captain Smith.
