During this week’s meeting of the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority, it was reported that a regional Tesla automotive representative visited the area to discuss the possible location of eight Tesla Superchargers at Canal Place. That company specializes in electric cars and their powertrain components and also produces battery charging equipment. The closest Tesla charging stations are in Hagerstown. Executive Director Dee Dee Ritchie said the chargers would allow Tesla owners in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond to come into the downtown and shop while charging their electric vehicles.
