Allegany County Attorney Bill Rudd announced last week that the developer of the controversial, nearly decade old TerrapināRun development project and the state are in negotiations over possible sale of the property. The county’s comprehensive plan has been recommended for adoption by the county planning commission but isn’t official until the commissioners give the project approval. The Cumberland Times News reports that as the 2014 Comprehensive Plan was considered by the planning commission, the battle between many residents, state officials and the developer renewed. Despite the controversy, the county has gone to great lengths to defend the inclusion of Terrapin Run in the 2014 plan.
