Teachers Union Opposes Process Used By BoE To Make Superintendent Permanent

The union representing teachers in Allegany County has issued a statement strongly opposing the process used by the Board of Education earlier this month in naming interim Superintendent Jeff Blank as the permanent superintendent. In the statement, the Allegany County Education Association says that the process the majority of the board opted for is “rife with favoritism”; lacking in transparency; and devoid of community input. It was on October 8th that board members Robert Farrell, David Bohn and Wayne Foote voted in favor making Blank the permanent superintendent- with members Deb Frank and Tammy Fraley strongly opposing the action.
