Governor Larry Hogan today issued the following statement:
“Comptroller Franchot and I have reached a major bipartisan agreement to affirmatively vote to advance the Traffic Relief Plan at the Board of Public Works on Wednesday.
“This means that we can finally move forward on our historic interstate agreement with Virginia to build a new American Legion Bridge, and to solve what has been the number one problem in the Washington Capital Region for decades. With this plan, no one will be required to pay any tolls, all existing lanes will remain free, and billions of dollars in road improvements will be made without any new taxes. Nearly 70 percent of Marylanders support this project to address the second-worst traffic congestion in America. This marks a monumental achievement for our region.”

Sounds good, but realistically where is the money coming from?

Money comes from taxpayers all over the State unless they have a money tree there we are not aware of. Send some to Western MD, we pay the same amount of taxes & sometimes more, % wise, look…you will see. I am tired of bending over.

We don’t count for much out here in the hinterlands Steve. Howard, PG, Montgomery, Baltimore, and Ann Arundel have all the power. Just the way it is.
