In poor condition and failing to meet current standards, the future of four West Side bridges continues to be examined with no real solutions yet identified. Several meetings involving citizens from the West Side area, city officials and representatives from CSX have been held in recent months to discuss the problems. The bridges in question are the vehicle bridges on Washington, Fayette and Cumberland streets and the railroad bridge on Greene Street.
