The Cumberland Times News reports significant demolition activity has been taking place in recent days in the Rolling Mill neighborhood- the target zone for the Maryland Avenue Redevelopment Project. The redevelopment project calls for the removal of 67 homes and a church between Maryland Avenue and Park Street and Emily and Williams streets to create a commercial zone with a national chain restaurant and businesses. Five homes were taken down Thursday and currently 15 more are marked as ready for demolition.
