On October 12, 2016 at approximately 0030 hours Allegany County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a business located on Mt. Savage Road (Motor City) in reference to a subject who had entered the business after hours while an employee was on the premises. Upon arrival deputies located 55 year old Jerry Paul Adams of Hyndman, Pennsylvania in the parking lot of the business. The employee was able to provide details of the incident and advised he was inside the building when Adams entered and asked to use the restroom. The employee told Adams the business was closed and he would have to leave. Adams then assaulted the employee and walked outside. Deputies arrived a short time later and Adams was taken into custody after a brief struggle. During a search incident to arrest, a deputy located two glass smoking devices in Adams’ pocket. Adams was charged with the following crimes in reference to the incident.
Burglary 2nd Degree
Trespassing
Assault 2nd Degree
Resisting Arrest
CDS Paraphernalia: Possession
Adams was taken before the District Court Commissioner and held at the Allegany County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
