According to numbers released by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, Rocky Gap Casino Resort generated $4.65 million from its slot machines and table games in October, a slight decrease when compared to figures from the same month last year. Combined, the state's six casinos — Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County, Live! Casino in Anne Arundel County, Rocky Gap and MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County— made $134 million for the month. Revenue at Rocky Gap was down $75,216, or 1.6 percent, from October 2016 numbers. The casino generated $4.7 million in September. The resort operates 665 slot machines and 17 banked table games. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day in October was $191.62 for slot machines and $1,310.91 for banked table games. Casino contributions to the state go to the Maryland Education Trust Fund and also support small-, minority- and women-owned businesses, local impact grants and the state’s horse racing industry. The Cumberland Times News reports in Allegany County, the funds benefit Opportunity Scholarships for students attending Allegany College of Maryland and Frostburg State University, local fire companies, board of education capital programs and the county’s pay-as-you-go account.
