Investigation of a suspicious person complaint led to the arrest of a Ridgeley, West Virginia, woman Monday evening at a West Industrial Boulevard business, according to the Cumberland Police Department. Betsy Leavitt, 36, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not marijuana) and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of the 6:02 p.m. complaint. Following a bond hearing, Leavitt was released on her personal recognizance by a district court commissioner. Police said a consent search led to the discovery when officers contacted her at the business.
