A Ridgeley, W.Va., man is awaiting trial on various charges stemming from an alleged forced entry of a Virginia Avenue residence where he demanded money from the occupants.
The Cumberland Times News reports Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant to 27-year-old Darrell James Crawford charging him with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, trespassing, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and attempted theft less than $100.
Police said Crawford allegedly forced entry into a dwelling in the 200 block of Virginia Avenue, confronted the occupants and demanded money. The victims reportedly said they had no money before the accused reportedly knocked over numerous household items. The victims were then able to persuade the accused to leave the property.
Police said the incident occurred on Jan. 25, 2014.
