Reform Commission to Submit Recommendations for Growth in County

Allegany County’s Regulatory Reform Commission, appointed last summer, has completed its report and presented recommendations to the county commissioners for consideration. The first-of-its kind commission was established by the commissioners to examine impediments to growth in the county. The commission’s purpose was described as focusing on how the county government can streamline processes and protocols relating to permitting, land development and planning. The recommendations included: developing a customer service survey; improving communications of permitting processes; and evaluating inconsistencies with existing requirements.     I’m all for streamlining processes and protocols but the County won’t really get anything done without hiring a PR firm to smooth the way and make all of that information available in digestible bits. I’m sure that the City will want to recommend McClarran and Williams as they are the go to mouthpiece for the City. They can sell ice to the eskimos.
