Medical marijuana has been legal in Maryland for two years- and while efforts have continued by some to push for support of legalizing it for recreational use, to date that hasn’t come close. There have been steps in that direction however as the state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation. One of those who strongly oppose the idea of legalizing it for recreational use is Senate President Mike Miller.
