The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation and PennTex Ventures on Friday released site development concepts for the Maryland Avenue Redevelopment Project. The concept site plans, include a mini strip mall between Emily and Cecilia Streets; as well as a 6,500 square foot location for a restaurant and a large area for customer parking all in the section of town commonly referred to as the Rolling Mill area. CEDC executive director Shawn Hershberger emphasized that while these are only initial site plan concepts, they demonstrate the potential for significant commercial development in an area just off of Interstate 68. The final site plan will be dependent upon the commitment of tenants to locate within the commercial redevelopment.
