Officers responded to a M/V Crash in the 200 blk of Polk St.  Upon their arrival they observed a vehicle that had struck a house.  The pickup truck’s bed was against the house.  The officers made contact with the vehicles owner operator who was identified as Adam James Knotts.  Knotts advised that his vehicle ran out of gas and he then attempted to push the truck when it drifted away from him into the house.  While talking with Knotts the officer observed his eyes to be glassy along with his speech being slurred.  They also observed a hypodermic needle laying on the ground near Knotts along with a tin sitting on the seat in plain view containing drug paraphernalia.  Knotts denied drinking alcohol and agreed to take field sobriety tests.  Knotts failed the tests given and was placed under arrest for DWI.  The tin was seized and searched.  The tin contained a glass marijuana smoking device, 14 Clonazepam, 6 Alprazolam and a short straw containing possible heroin residue.  A further search of the vehicle revealed 3 more hypodermic needles.  He was transported to PH where he was charged and processed.
