On Friday at approximately 4:30 PM, Deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff's Office were on patrol on I68 when they observed a vehicle being operated erratically in a construction zone in the area of the 43 mile-marker.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop due to numerous violations of traffic law. Upon approaching the vehicle the deputy could immediately detect the strong and distinct odor of CDS emanating from inside.
While conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle deputies discovered a large sum of U.S. Currency as well as a criminal amount of marijuana and prescription narcotics pills. The marijuana and narcotic pills were of sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute.
Pursuant to the investigation the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, Austin Lebor Daniels 19 of Upper Marlboro MD, was placed under arrest and charged with the following:
Possession w/Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Possession w/Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS
Possession Marijuana >10gm
Possession of Schedule II CDS
Removing Label from Rx Bottle
Daniels was taken before a District Court Commissioner and ordered held without bond pending a bond review before a District Court Judge.
