On 09/20/15 at 3:00am Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 600blk of Greene St in reference to a burglar alarm being activated. Upon Officers arrival they observed the front doors to the business to have been tampered with. Entry was not made into the business. Arrest Warrant Served
On 09/20/15 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept served an arrest warrant on 24 year old David Kesler Jr of Cumberland. The warrant stems from an investigation initiated by the Cumberland Police Dept on 09/17/15 when Officers responded to a residence located in the 1500blk of Oldtown Rd in reference to an assault. Upon officers arrival they contacted the victim who advised that an argument ensued which turned physical. Officers observed injuries to the victims which was consistent with their account of the incident. One subject was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of non life threatening injuries by the Cumberland Fire Dept. Officers checked the area for the suspect who was identified as David Kesler Jr with negative results. The officer then applied for charges through the District Court resulting in the arrest warrant being issued. Kesler was taken into custody without incident after an Officer observed him walking on Decatur St. Kesler was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was processed and served the warrant charging him with two counts of second degree assault, three counts of conspiracy to commit second degree assault, and trespassing. Kesler was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $13,000 bail.
