On Thursday, May 23^rd, 2019, the Cumberland City Police responded to a business in the 700 block of Park St. for the report of a theft. Upon officer’s arrival on scene, they contacted a witness for the business owner. They advised they observed the suspect, identified as Robert Dale Clay, enter the business and conceal items inside of a shopping bag. Clay then exited the store without attempting to pay for them. As a result, Clay was arrested and issued a Criminal Citation for theft less than $100. He was then released, pending trial in District Court.
