Thursday at 10:19 AM, the Hagerstown Barrack received a call for a pedestrian struck on northbound Interstate 81 north of US Route 40.
The investigation revealed that William Harp was standing on the right shoulder of northbound Interstate 81. Witnesses stated that Harp ran into the roadway and was struck by a 2014 Volvo which was traveling northbound in lane #1, after being struck Harp made his way into the median.
Harp told troopers during the investigation that he was looking for his dog. Harp was treated by ambulance personnel and transported by ambulance to a landing zone at which time he was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma.
