A total of 19 groups and organizations made their cases to the Cumberland Mayor and City Council Tuesday night seeking dollars generated by the hotel/motel tax. Several years ago the city council made the decision to earmark the revenue stream from hotel and motel stays to go towards tourism related ventures and nonprofit groups. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes reported that the final available funding will be in the range of $55,000 to $60,000.
