According to a Cumberland Times-News report, the Oldtown Bridge is now fully operational as of 5 A.M. this morning. There had been some concern that the bridge would be out of commission for several months. Work began weeks ago and repairs have been swift. The bridge was washed out in June after heavy rainfall and flooding. The bridge is the only crossing of the Potomac River for 15 miles in either direction and is the only privately-owned bridge in the state of Maryland.
