The low water bridge in Oldtown is open according to bridge owner Lori Roberts, who confirmed the news to WCBC shortly after 12 noon. Roberts owns Historical Oldtown Bridge Preservation, LLC. The bridge connects Oldtown and the Green Spring, W.Va., area. The Oldtown Bridge is the only privately owned toll bridge in Maryland. About 200,000 vehicles cross the bridge each year. Repairs to the bridge due to frequent washouts were completed last year. The bridge is the only crossing of the river for 15 miles in either direction.
