FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for Allegany County in western Maryland, and
Grant and Mineral Counties in West Virginia.
* From noon today until midnight tonight.
* Slow moving thunderstorms capable of heavy rainfall rates are
likely this afternoon and evening, and may result in rapid rises
of water.The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include western Maryland, northern West Virginia and eastern Ohio. * Through this evening. * Rainfall totals of 1.0 to 2.5 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible. * Flash flooding of urban areas, small creeks and streams.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
