In conjunction with the regular monthly meeting of The Greater Cumberland Committee (TGCC), the North-South Appalachian Highway Coalition will be holding its annual meeting at Garrett College’s Continuing Education Building, Room 205, on Friday, Oct. 2, at 11:30 am. The coalition is a three-state group of individual businesses, county and municipal governments, and non-profit organizations, which is focused on the development of US Route 219 from Somerset, Pennsylvania, to the Maryland State line and US Route 220 from the Cumberland area to Appalachian Corridor H in West Virginia. The North/South Appalachian Highway is comprised of two distinct legs, US 219 N and US 220 S. As a total corridor, it is projected to create 10,000 permanent and 20,000 construction and construction-related jobs in the regiaon.
