Thursday afternoon, just after 4:10PM, deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of National Highway at National Pike. Dispatch information was that there was a disturbance at this location and that a Trooper was involved in a fight and possibly on the ground.  Deputies arrived on scene and learned that a vehicle operator was involved in an altercation with a passenger and stopped in the middle of National Pike at National Highway. As the passenger exited the vehicle the operator began to pull away. A bystander observed the altercation and believed that the operator was trying to run over the pedestrians. The bystander alerted an off duty Trooper that was in the area. The Trooper was able to remove and detain the operator until deputies arrived.  Pursuant to the investigation deputies arrested 28 year old Cody Edwards of Mt. Savage.  Edwards was released pending trial. 

 

The Frostburg City Police, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police and the Maryland State Police also responded to the incident. 

Pursuant to the investigation deputies arrested 28 year old Cody Edwards of Mt. Savage, MD. and charged him with the following:

Reckless Driving

Negligent Driving

DUI

DWI

DUI Per Se 

 

Edwards was released pending trial. 

 

The Frostburg City Police, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police and the Maryland State Police also responded to the incident.
