Maryland State Police say a 55 year old Hagerstown man has died of injuries sustained when he was struck near Route 64 last Thursday evening. Troopers believe Roger Wright walked into the travel portion of the road and was struck by a vehicle driven by David Tallant. Wright was taken to Meritas Medical Center and died on Christmas Eve.

Narrative: On 12/22/2016 at approximately 1915 hours, Tallant was traveling E/B Rt 64 at Foxville RD in Washington County, Maryland. Tallant was slowing down prior to the intersection to make a right turn onto Foxville RD. Wright was on the shoulder in the area of the intersection. At that time it is believed that Wright walked into the travel portion of the roadway and was struck by Tallant’s vehicle. Wright was transported to Meritus Medical Center and is in critical, but stable condition. Tallant was not injured in the collision. All the above events occurred in Washington County, Maryland.
***** UPDATE: On 12/24/2016 Wright succumbed to his injuries at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
