With work getting underway on construction of a new Maryland State Police barrack in LaVale- a temporary headquarters will be needed- and the Allegany County Commissioners have stepped up to provide assistance. The county took action last month to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Maryland State Police allowing the local operation to be housed at the county facilities on PPG Road while the current site undergoes demolition and construction.
