The Cumberland Times News reports that autopsy results are pending in the investigation of the death of a Fort Ashby woman whose body was found Thursday evening following a several hour search. According to the newspaper report, the body of Marlene Werner, 77, was discovered on Creek Ridge at about 7 p.m., after an extensive search of the area by Natural Resources Police, West Virginia State Police, the Mineral County Sheriff's Office and special operations members of the Fort Ashby and Fountain volunteer fire departments. NRP Sgt. Mike Lott said the victim's body was discovered after NRP was made aware Wednesday night of trail camera photographs of the victim shown walking in the area Sunday. It was in that same area where Lott had investigated a report of a person screaming early Sunday evening. The location is near Eagle's Nest Campground off Patterson Creek Village Pike. Although cause of death has not been determined, there were no signs of foul play or visible injuries.
