Minority Leader Not Troubled by Delay in Patreus Fallout

November 16th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

As a hearing is underway in Washington into the widening scandal that led to the resignation of the CIA's top official, Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, minority leader of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, says that he is not troubled by any reported delay in notice to the White House and Congress. Ruppersberger heard from top FBI and CIA officials behind closed doors yesterday, nearly a week since the resignation of General David Petraeus. Ruppersberger said he does not believe Petraeus covered up about the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Libya. He declined to comment on claims that Petraeus resigned over the Benghazi attack. Ruppersberger also said he could not comment on reports that Paula Broadwell might have had access to classified information in her relationship with Petraeus.
