The Cumberland Times News reports one person was injured and taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after a vehicle traveled out of control on Route 28 and struck a utility pole, according to the Mineral County 911 emergency center. The mishap occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Furnace Acres. Utility lines were downed by the crash. Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department ambulance transported the patient. Volunteer units from Wiley Ford, Short Gap and Fort Ashby also responded to the scene, as did Potomac Edison personnel. The accident was investigated by the Mineral County Sheriff's Office. No further information was available.
