Each year a series of Memorial Day Events is held at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in honor of those who have given their lives serving in the armed services. This year the events began Friday with National Veterans Awareness Ride participants arriving at the cemetery at 10:45 am. The ride is a 10 day journey from Sacramenta, California, to Washington D.C. The arrival of the group at Rocky Gap also highlights flag placement activities, which entails placement of small U.S. flags on more than 3,500 gravesites. The cemetery will also hold a Memorial Day program today at 2:00 PM. The program will consist of the presentation of the colors, patriotic music played by the Frostburg Arion Band under the direction of Ronald Horner. The keynote address will be given by George W.
