Allegany County officials met Thursday afternoon with Maryland’s Secretary of Transportation Pete Rahn to outline the county’s top road and bridge projects moving forward. The county received a major boost just a few weeks ago with Governor Larry Hogan announced the administration has awarded $38,390,961 in grants for local roads in municipalities and counties from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore. That breakdown will see the county get a total of $220,000 additional funding going to: Barton $17,000; Cumberland $668,000; Frostburg $185,000; Lonaconing $32,000; Luke $5,000; Midland $15,000; and Westernport $67,000.
