MD Economy Ranks In Top 10 In The Nation

October 21st, 2019 by WCBC Radio

According to a report issued earlier this year, Maryland's economy ranks in the top 10 in the nation.  Maryland ranks eighth on a list compiled by 24/7 Wall St. based on an index comprising five measures: GDP growth, job growth, unemployment rate, poverty rate, and bachelor's degree attainment rate. The report indicated Maryland's unemployment was 3.8%, which was tied for 18th highest, the report cited. The report found almost 40% of adults in Maryland have at least a bachelor's degree, which exceeds the national share, which was 32% and was the third-highest college attainment rate of any state. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan says while he is proud of the turnaround in the state’s economy- he feels his hands remain tied for the most part being a Republican trying to work with a legislature that is overwhelmingly Democrat. One example he says comes in the area of tax cuts…

Glad to hear that Maryland is doing so well.
When did Allegany County get gerrymandered into West Virginia?

Allegany County has just over 1% (71,000) of Maryland’s 6,000,000+ population. We are ranked 23rd out of the 24 counties in most economic metrics in the state. Do you really think we count for anything in Annapolis? Most people down state think western MD is Frederick.
